SPIRIT OF VENICE – Keeping the free spirit of Venice alive! ~ An alternative community website that began as a small newsletter – “Spirit Of Venice Speaks” – giving voice to issues not being covered by conventional media. STARVING ARTIST – Sonny Zorro the King of Venice Beach ~ When we met King Sonny Zorro, living homeless on Venice Beach, we knew he was a rare “jewel in the sand”. So, we invited him to record his “Millennium” album in our Venice studio. He showed up with his buddy Harmonica Dave and they dived into a live jam. The result was a unique, eclectic jazz-blues collection. Sonny would sell or trade his CDs for food on Venice boardwalk. He passed away in 2003 and is sorely missed by the many friends who loved him dearly. Donate and download mp3

In 1993, our friend, UK pop-reggae artist Bam Bam (aka Princess Bam Bam) gave us permission to use her “Small World” song, written about global and environmental issues of that time, that are still affecting us all. We made a music video of Bam Bam singing the song, with the help of E-Squared, a Hollywood film company, film director Gail Taylor, and a host of wonderful volunteers who all came together to make this memorable, and still timely, music message to the world. You can watch the video on Youtube and it’s also on “Our Music Videos” page.
